Rudolf Weigl developed a vaccination for typhus, he also employed Jews to protect them from the Nazies.

Chiune Sugihara saved 6,000 Jews from the Nazis. He was vice-consul of the Japanese Consulate in Kaunas, then the temporary capital of Lithuania.
